About

A photo taken by my poetry mentor, Albert Huffstickler, at a diner in New Mexico. 1980?
This will be my first foray into blogging. I have been toying with this idea for quite awhile. I hope the title infers a vast eclecticism and an appreciation for being born a human animal, having a life on this planet, and an existence in this universe.
My interests are fairly varied. I enjoy creating poetry, songs, and photographs. I enjoy technology in general, and like to play with multimedia, Web scripting, and social media. I enjoy the outdoors, bicycling, and backpacking. I consider myself an environmentalist and actively participate in a watershed watch group.
My chosen profession is that of an educator. I hold a PhD in Instructional Technology from the University of Texas. My dissertation and research assistant work in that program led me to my current job at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, where I have had wonderful cross-cultural experiences with many Indigenous people from around the world. There are so many ways to experience the world, and learning from others from a wide range of cultural perspectives has broadened my experience greatly.
Welcome to the blogosphere. Great start. Love the look and eclecticism. Keep the photos and poems coming.
